In the 8th minute Benjamin Ferreira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Oliver Bierhoff saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of BIRUTI FC booed when RiverFolia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luís Gustavo Cardoso didn't get a good kick on the ball. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Afonsinho Fontes came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the BIRUTI FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Afonsinho Fontes couldn't finish the play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eugênio Romero got free with Duda Pena in the 63rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 64 minutes into the match, BIRUTI FC's goal looked a bit too open when Marcelinho Massa came free, but Duda Pena reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Luís Gustavo Cardoso managed to get in a good position for a shot. RiverFolia's supporters rose to their feet, but Luís Gustavo Cardoso was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dudu de Amaral might have been able to make a better finish in the 93rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Oliver Bierhoff. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dudu de Amaral ran back to his position shaking his head. When Caio de Mendonça came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the RiverFolia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Caio de Mendonça couldn't finish the play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. RiverFolia walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
