In the 8th minute Tostão Montenegro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lúcio Dracena saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 12 minutes into the game, Independente Brasil's Nildo Silva nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Lúcio Dracena made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Independente Brasil's José Carlos Guedes has a good shot, but didn't show it this time. An unexpectedly hard shot by Laerte Marques in the 16th minute of play forced Dionisio SC's goalkeeper Lúcio Dracena to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ciro Batista fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lúcio Dracena having to interfere. Nildo Silva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ramiro do Nascimento made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felippe Mineiro in the 29th minute of play. 30 minutes into the game, Ciro Batista was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Independente Brasil's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Dionisio SC the free kick. Ciro Batista kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. When Nildo Silva came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Independente Brasil fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nildo Silva couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Laerte Marques in the 35th minute of play forced Dionisio SC's goalkeeper Lúcio Dracena to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 37th minute, Hílton Neto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ramiro do Nascimento made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gilson Britto in the 39th minute. Benjamin Brasil helped the player get up and apologised. Lúcio Dracena showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tostão Montenegro in the 56th minute of the match. After 60 minutes, Hílton Neto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Dionisio SC and the Independente Brasil players grew even worse after the yellow card. Hílton Neto kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. If Tostão Montenegro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 64 minutes into the match, Dionisio SC's goal looked a bit too open when Nildo Silva came free, but Lúcio Dracena reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tostão Montenegro in the 65th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lúcio Dracena prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ramiro do Nascimento showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felippe Mineiro in the 67th minute of the match. Ramiro do Nascimento took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Diogo Cunha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpected shot in the 69th minute by Nildo Silva got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Lúcio Dracena showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nildo Silva, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. After having played for 85 minutes, Felippe Mineiro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dionisio SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Felippe Mineiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 87th minute, Alfredão Freitas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nildo Silva recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 96 minutes into the match, Dionisio SC's goalkeeper Lúcio Dracena had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Laerte Marques. Independente Brasil's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
