The supporters of Foz do Iguaçu booed when Pikastofly FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sydney Costa didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 19 played minutes Foz do Iguaçu got a freekick which was hit by Rui Pinheiro. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Sydney Costa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pikastofly FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Sydney Costa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Raimundo Xavier breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Silvinho Pires sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Raimundo Xavier showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sydney Costa, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristiano Pinho in the 97th minute of play forced Foz do Iguaçu's goalkeeper Raimundo Xavier to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
