After 3rd play minutes João Adolfo Cosme shot 0-1, a short shot which went by Duda de Souza and just under the crossbar into goal. In the 27th minute, Yuri de Castro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 36 minutes into the match, Bartolomeu's goal looked a bit too open when Yuri de Castro came free, but Duda de Souza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 38 minutes of play, Bartolomeu's Gilvan Souza made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Romelio Ibaute was left in no man's land by his defense there! 48 minutes into the match, Bartolomeu's goal looked a bit too open when João Adolfo Cosme came free, but Duda de Souza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Bartolomeu players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Grêmio were winning 1-3.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for João Adolfo Cosme to strike the kick off in the second half. The throw-in from Wellington Nogueira in the 52nd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Grêmio's Jeferson de Sousa. Duda de Souza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from João Adolfo Cosme, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Yuri de Castro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 60th minute, Gilvan Souza got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Wellington Nogueira kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. Yuri de Castro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Duda de Souza having to interfere. When Yuri de Castro came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Grêmio fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Yuri de Castro couldn't finish the play. César Queiroz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Duda de Souza tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 77 minutes into the game, Jeferson de Sousa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Grêmio's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Bartolomeu the free kick. In the 77th match minute, Grêmio was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jeferson de Sousa to maneuver through the defense. Grêmio's Romelio Ibaute played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by José Paulo de Almeida in the 78th minute of play. 80 minutes into the match, Bartolomeu's goalkeeper Duda de Souza had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Yuri de Castro. Téo Albuquerque hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. Washington Mota was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 83rd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. If João Adolfo Cosme had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gilvan Souza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gilvan Souza in the 93rd minute of play forced Grêmio's goalkeeper Romelio Ibaute to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
