In the 15th minute, Dalmo Vidal made a precise shot to the right of Hermínio Cavalcante. Jägermeister FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. The supporters of Flamengo booed when Jägermeister FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Acácio Amorim didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 21 played minutes Jägermeister FC got a freekick which was hit by Luís Eduardo Abraão. Laércio Cabral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hermínio Cavalcante took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from João Francisco Cruz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hermínio Cavalcante showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dalmo Vidal, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Luís Eduardo Abraão kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving João Carlos Barros. That made the score 2-1 in the 30 minute of play. After a rather tough play, Jägermeister FC's Eliézer de Azevedo got a free kick in the 34th minute. If Vivaldo Abraão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 40th minute, Dalmo Vidal left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Flamengo fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. In the 44th minute, Durvalino Antunes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Laércio Cabral in the 52ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Hermínio Cavalcante, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Vivaldo Abraão's late challenge caught a Jägermeister FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vivaldo Abraão helped the player get up and apologised. Eliézer de Azevedo kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. In the 64th minute, Luís Eduardo Abraão made a precise shot to the right of João Carlos Barros. Flamengo's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-2. João Carlos Barros was left in no man's land by his defense there! Michel Novaes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Carlos Barros having to interfere. In the 78thth minute of the game Michel Novaes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Flamengo's João Carlos Barros was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Michel Novaes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 81st minute Dalmo Vidal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hermínio Cavalcante saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 84 played minutes Jägermeister FC got a freekick which was hit by Eliézer de Azevedo. Hermínio Cavalcante showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Delfim Cruz, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dalmo Vidal in the 91st minute of play forced Jägermeister FC's goalkeeper Hermínio Cavalcante to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jägermeister FC's Hermínio Cavalcante played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dalmo Vidal in the 94th minute of play. Durvalino Antunes kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. Jägermeister FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
