After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Ernani Reis managed to get in a good position for a shot. AE esporte clube's supporters rose to their feet, but Ernani Reis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. AE esporte clube's Marcel Lopez got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marcel Lopez couldn't finish the play. A very good chance. 38 minutes into the game, Mané Tepedino cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Luiz Fábio Custódio was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Betinho Lima fired away a difficult shot at goal in the 47th minute. He almost succeeded, but the ball went over. It was a very nice shot. After the first half Albertina were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Mané Tepedino to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcel Lopez in the 60th minute of play forced Albertina's goalkeeper Váldson Prata to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 61st minute, Conrado Oliveira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 64 minutes into the match, Ernani Reis had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Váldson Prata. Albertina's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ernani Reis was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Marcel Lopez's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Váldson Prata read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 72nd minute of play. Luiz Fábio Custódio made an important save on a dangerous shot by Guto Almeida in the 74th minute. Deivid Antunes hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. When Conrado Oliveira came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Albertina fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Conrado Oliveira couldn't finish the play. 89 minutes into the match, AE esporte clube's goalkeeper Luiz Fábio Custódio had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Enio Rodrigues. The crowd rose to their feet as Albertina's Betinho Lima slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Luiz Fábio Custódio. That made the score 1-3 after 92 minutes of play. In the 95th match minute, Albertina was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Guto Almeida to maneuver through the defense. Albertina played a much better game than AE esporte clube and deserved their victory. The AE esporte clube players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
