In the 9th minute Luiz Guilherme Diniz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nelsinho Esteves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arabela's Cipriano Catarinense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomé Sá in the 37th minute of play. In the 38th match minute, Sarandy FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tomás Peres to maneuver through the defense. Arabela's Válter Furtado got his second yellow card of the match in the 40th minute. The referee ordered Válter Furtado off the ground. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Tomé Sá managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sarandy FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomé Sá was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cipriano Catarinense breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The Arabela players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Sarandy FC were winning 0-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Paulo Renato Rosado made a kick off. Cipriano Catarinense stood somewhat misplaced when Paulo Renato Rosado came free in front of goal and shot 0-3 to the left of him in the 54 minute.
