Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Fenix FC's José Maria Guedes started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Tambaqui FC's Robinho Amaral played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by José Maria Guedes in the 6th minute of play. In the 7th minute Fenix FC were awarded a corner. Paulo Renato Faria went to the cornerflag to take it. The supporters of Tambaqui FC booed when Fenix FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juninho Abraão didn't get a good kick on the ball. José Maria Guedes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Robinho Amaral tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee ignored Fenix FC's protests and gave Clóvis Brasil a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Tambaqui FC booed when Fenix FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Clóvis Brasil didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Naldo Simão in the 21st minute of play forced Fenix FC's goalkeeper José Pedro Melo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Robinho Amaral showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from José Maria Guedes, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. José Maria Guedes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Robinho Amaral having to interfere. Luiz Eduardo Quirino lost his temper 33 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. Paulo Renato Faria placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! Reinaldo Loureiro kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. Robinho Amaral guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. Nilmar Donatello received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Robinho Amaral tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 43rd minute, Dino Massa left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Fenix FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. After a defensive mix-up in Fenix FC's zone, Naldo Simão stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. José Pedro Melo came out of the goal and Naldo Simão tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 47 minutes, Juninho Abraão mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Fenix FC and the Tambaqui FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Fenix FC's Juninho Abraão got a free kick in the 47th minute.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Naldo Simão stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Tambaqui FC's goal looked a bit too open when Dino Massa came free, but Robinho Amaral reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling José Maria Guedes in the 58th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Robinho Amaral prevented the ball from getting in the gole. José Maria Guedes took the ball and in the 62 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Robinho Amaral. Robinho Amaral dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. Naldo Simão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Pedro Melo having to interfere. With a little luck, Fenix FC's José Pedro Melo got control of the ball when Naldo Simão tried to sneak it across the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Tambaqui FC's Cafu Brodel slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of José Pedro Melo. That made the score 3-1 after 70 minutes of play. In the 73rd minute, Dino Massa left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Fenix FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-1. Dino Massa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by José Maria Guedes in the 80th minute of play forced Tambaqui FC's goalkeeper Robinho Amaral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 93 minutes, Naldo Simão mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Tambaqui FC and the Fenix FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 93rd minute, Naldo Simão hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. There was no doubt that Fenix FC were the better team. Fenix FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
