Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Angelo Arruda got the match started through his kick off. An unexpected shot in the 3rd minute by Zé Carlos Vidal got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 7th minute of the match, Angelo Arruda tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Vicente Soares saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Vicente Soares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Angelo Arruda, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. In the 15th match minute, Cangaira was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luís Paulo Mesquita to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Ernesto Valladares managed to get in a good position for a shot. Calesso FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ernesto Valladares was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Denílson de Souza breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 18th minute Zé Carlos Vidal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vicente Soares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Angelo Arruda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zé Carlos Vidal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vicente Soares having to interfere. Vicente Soares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Angelo Arruda in the 30th minute of play. A hard shot by Joaquim Luz from long distance, 33 minutes into the match, got Vicente Soares's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Ademar Goiano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match had gone on for 39 minutes, Zé Carlos Vidal took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Vicente Soares to make any attempt to save it. After having played for 47 minutes, Zé Carlos Vidal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cangaira's supporters crossed their fingers, but Zé Carlos Vidal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ernesto Valladares stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Angelo Arruda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vicente Soares having to interfere. Luís Paulo Mesquita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. When Zé Carlos Vidal came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Cangaira fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zé Carlos Vidal couldn't finish the play. Vicente Soares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Angelo Arruda in the 80th minute of the match. Zé Carlos Vidal blasted a shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Vicente Soares having to make a save. Calesso FC's Vicente Soares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Angelo Arruda in the 85th minute of play. Mauro Ferreira's late challenge caught a Cangaira's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mauro Ferreira helped the player get up and apologised. After 86 played minutes Calesso FC got a freekick which was hit by Mauro Ferreira. Ademar Goiano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Denílson de Souza having to interfere. A collision led to Calesso FC getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Amílton Tavares hit a great ball. 96 minutes into the match, Angelo Arruda had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Vicente Soares. Calesso FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Angelo Arruda was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. Cangaira walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
