An unexpectedly hard shot by Luiz Fernando Quirino in the 33rd minute of play forced Internazionale's goalkeeper Anselmo das Neves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 34th minute, Pedro de Brito hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Francisco Félix stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Maurinho Cosme's shot from short distance in the 36th minute. The supporters of G E Gálatas booed when Internazionale was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dráuzio Meireles didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, G E Gálatas's Francisco Félix got control of the ball when Maurinho Cosme tried to sneak it across the goal line.
