Hélio Gonçalves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Antônio Breckenfeld in the 4th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Leonor Futebol Clube's zone, Antônio Breckenfeld stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hélio Gonçalves came out of the goal and Antônio Breckenfeld tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 18 minutes into the match, Leonor Futebol Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Antônio Breckenfeld came free, but Hélio Gonçalves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Leonor Futebol Clube's Hélio Gonçalves proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save Leonor Futebol Clube from getting a goal against them. After 24 played minutes Vieiras got a freekick which was hit by Fernandão de Medeiros. Vieiras's Elano Miranda played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jarbas Maia in the 26th minute of play. After 26 played minutes Vieiras got a freekick which was hit by Gustavo Vinhas. In the 28th minute, Claudinho Pena hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 29 played minutes, Vieiras's Hélio Gaúcho shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Hélio Gonçalves came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Vieiras reached it. In the 30th minute, Cido Miranda ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Elano Miranda was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Cido Miranda recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With his leg Hélio Gonçalves managed to avoid a goal in the 40thth minute, when Vieiras's Antônio Breckenfeld fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After a rather tough play, Vieiras's Augusto Fernandes got a free kick in the 45th minute. Clóvis Queirós kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. Elano Miranda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cido Miranda, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Antônio Breckenfeld to strike the kick off in the second half. Jarbas Maia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Elano Miranda had great luck who in the 59thth minute grab hold of the ball when Cido Miranda from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. 70 minutes into the match, Antônio Breckenfeld had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Hélio Gonçalves. Leonor Futebol Clube's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Antônio Breckenfeld was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cido Miranda in the 76th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Elano Miranda prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Elano Miranda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cido Miranda in the 77th minute of the match. Caio Queiroz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Leonor Futebol Clube's Valdemar Romero got a free kick in the 82nd minute. Elano Miranda made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cido Miranda in the 89th minute of play. After some careless play in the Leonor Futebol Clube defense, Antônio Breckenfeld kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hélio Gonçalves. The Leonor Futebol Clube fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hélio Gonçalves should have stopped the shot. There was no doubt that Vieiras were the better team. Vieiras's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
