When the match clock showed 8 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Horácio Pimenta sped through Ariramba's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Rubinho Pontes. If Didi da Silva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fluminense FC's Ernesto Rossi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 27th minute of the match, managed to save Fluminense FC from getting a goal against them. In the 28th minute, Ariramba's Matías de Toledo dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-2. Didi da Silva took the ball and in the 31 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ernesto Rossi. Rubinho Pontes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from André Nóbrega, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. Rubinho Pontes was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 72nd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Enrique Maciel. 80 minutes into the game, Ariramba's Didi da Silva nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ernesto Rossi made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 6-2. 84 minutes into the match, Fluminense FC's goal looked a bit too open when Didi da Silva came free, but Ernesto Rossi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 94th minute of the match, Chico Oliveira tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Rubinho Pontes saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The Ariramba fans cheered their team off the field, for while Fluminense FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
