After 17 played minutes Fluminense FC got a freekick which was hit by Chico Oliveira. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Enio Prata managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fulumir's supporters rose to their feet, but Enio Prata was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ernesto Rossi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 20th minute, Francisco Furtado reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Ernesto Rossi. The goal made the score 1-0. In the 24th minute, Fluminense FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Nando Bueno fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Fulumir's defense didn't have a chance, in the 66th minute, when André Nóbrega scored to the left of an out of position Sílvio Luís Machado, making the score, 2-3. Enio Prata fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ernesto Rossi having to interfere. If Nando Bueno had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. André Nóbrega sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Valdomiro Toledo hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. In the 82nd minute, Francisco Furtado got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Nando Bueno fell near the penalty area in the 83rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Fulumir's protests and gave Nando Bueno a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Fulumir's Nando Bueno got a free kick in the 83rd minute. In the 86th minute, Nando Bueno hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the final whistle went the supporters of Fluminense FC were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Fulumir side.
