The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Cido Meireles showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wellington Freitas, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

After 90 played minutes JFSP got a freekick which was hit by Laércio Torres. After 94 minutes, Manfredo Silva mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pirajiba and the JFSP players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Pirajiba's Manfredo Silva got a free kick in the 94th minute. JFSP's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
