Nildo Seco was extremely unlucky when he, in the 19th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. After 23 minutes Independente F.C. Limeira's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Nildo Seco who took care of the corner kick. In the 36th minute of the match, Yavuz Bülent Akduman got a very nice opportunity to score, but Robbie Southgate was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Independente F.C. Limeira's Robbie Southgate played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Toninho Guerreiro in the 38th minute of play. In the 46th minute Dionisio Rik shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dênis Hoffmann saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 47th minute, Frank Teixeira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Frank Teixeira was the one to do the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Independente F.C. Limeira's Pedro Luís do Valle sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dênis Hoffmann narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Independente F.C. Limeira were awarded a corner in the 53th minute after Corteva FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Amador Quinten took the corner. In the 57th minute, Pedro Luís do Valle got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Dionisio Rik came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the Independente F.C. Limeira fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dionisio Rik couldn't finish the play. In the 65th minute, Toninho Guerreiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 70th minute the ball was on its way in behind Independente F.C. Limeira's goalkeeper Robbie Southgate, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Dênis Hoffmann made an important save on a dangerous shot by Pedro Luís do Valle in the 71st minute. Robbie Southgate showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Yavuz Bülent Akduman in the 74th minute of the match. In the 75th minute, Nildo Seco got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Dionisio Rik sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Dênis Hoffmann made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dionisio Rik in the 79th minute of play. 82 minutes into the match, Corteva FC's goal looked a bit too open when Frank Teixeira came free, but Dênis Hoffmann reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 88th minute of the game. One of Independente F.C. Limeira:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Corteva FC:s goal. In the 89th minute there was a penalty for Corteva FC. Yavuz Bülent Akduman stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Robbie Southgate. 2-0. After 93 minutes, Toninho Guerreiro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Corteva FC and the Independente F.C. Limeira players grew even worse after the yellow card. Toninho Guerreiro hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. Toninho Guerreiro got his second yellow card in the match during the 96th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Corteva FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
