Luke Askew came out of the goal and Rodolfo Barbosa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 11 minutes into the match, Ypiranga SC's goal looked a bit too open when Rodolfo Barbosa came free, but Luke Askew reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 12th minute, Mei Jing got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Luke Askew showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rodolfo Barbosa, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. 16 minutes into the game, Villas Matilde's Rodolfo Barbosa nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Luke Askew made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 19th minute Rodolfo Barbosa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luke Askew saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 22 minutes into the game, Rodolfo Barbosa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Luke Askew was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Luke Askew showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Remus Iorda, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. In the 26th minute of the match Villas Matilde got a corner. Ypiranga SC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Dadá Neto ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Villas Matilde's corner Remus Iorda fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Luke Askew quite easily take care of the ball. A nice corner shot did that Dadá Neto got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Luke Askew quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Ypiranga SC's Luke Askew played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rodolfo Barbosa in the 31st minute of play. Luke Askew took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rodolfo Barbosa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Remus Iorda in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Luke Askew prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Remus Iorda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Luke Askew tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Rodolfo Barbosa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 44th minute Remus Iorda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luke Askew saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 47 minutes of play, Villas Matilde's Dadá Neto made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Luke Askew was left in no man's land by his defense there! After the first half Villas Matilde were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lucas Cordeiro to make the kick off. When Remus Iorda came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Villas Matilde fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Remus Iorda couldn't finish the play. 61 minutes into the match, Rodolfo Barbosa dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Luke Askew, 0-4. 64 minutes into the match, Remus Iorda had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Luke Askew. Ypiranga SC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Remus Iorda was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-5. After having played for 68 minutes, Remus Iorda managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Villas Matilde's supporters crossed their fingers, but Remus Iorda was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 70th minute, Rodolfo Barbosa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ian Tevelien showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fellipe de Mendonça in the 73rd minute of the match. Ypiranga SC's Luke Askew played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Remus Iorda in the 74th minute of play. If Remus Iorda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 80th minute, Remus Iorda ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Luke Askew was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-6. Rodolfo Barbosa took the ball and in the 83 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Luke Askew. Luke Askew dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-7. Rodolfo Barbosa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 94 minutes into the match, Ypiranga SC's goal looked a bit too open when Mei Jing came free, but Luke Askew reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Remus Iorda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rodolfo Barbosa in the 97th minute of play forced Ypiranga SC's goalkeeper Luke Askew to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match was over Villas Matilde could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Ypiranga SC throughout the match.
