In the 3rd minute, Academia do Povo FC's Valério Gomes ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ian Tevelien. Ian Tevelien yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Jeferson da Silveira came out of the goal in the 10th minute to try and stop a shot by Villas Matilde's Petre Spânu. But to his dismay, Petre Spânu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Jean Cavalcante could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 14th minute of the match, but Ian Tevelien made a huge save. In the 21st minute Petre Spânu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jeferson da Silveira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jeferson da Silveira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Remus Iorda, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Ian Tevelien took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcelo Costa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 33rdth minute of the game Petre Spânu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Academia do Povo FC's Jeferson da Silveira was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Petre Spânu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Petre Spânu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 47th match minute, Academia do Povo FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gerard Piquet to maneuver through the defense.

Remus Iorda took the ball and in the 53 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jeferson da Silveira. Jeferson da Silveira dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Petre Spânu in the 56th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jeferson da Silveira saved Academia do Povo FC from getting behind. In the 58th minute of the match Villas Matilde got a corner. Academia do Povo FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Dadá Neto ran over to the corner to take the kick. It was a well-played corner which Mei Jing managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Ian Tevelien showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Celedonio Clis, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. 65 minutes into the match, Academia do Povo FC's goalkeeper Jeferson da Silveira had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dadá Neto. An unexpectedly hard shot by Petre Spânu in the 67th minute of play forced Academia do Povo FC's goalkeeper Jeferson da Silveira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jean Cavalcante fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ian Tevelien having to interfere. 71 minutes into the match, Academia do Povo FC's Marcelo Costa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ian Tevelien narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 74th minute, Remus Iorda ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jeferson da Silveira was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. Villas Matilde's Ian Tevelien played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcelo Costa in the 81st minute of play. Rodolfo Barbosa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Jeferson da Silveira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marcelo Costa took the ball and in the 84 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ian Tevelien. Jeferson da Silveira came out of the goal in the 86th minute to try and stop a shot by Villas Matilde's Petre Spânu. But to his dismay, Petre Spânu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-4. Celedonio Clis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ian Tevelien having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Remus Iorda in the 97th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jeferson da Silveira saved Academia do Povo FC from getting behind. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Villas Matilde eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
