Spectators: 7710 (Terracing: 5824, Seating: 1786, VIP seats: 100) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Marcelo Dal Bello took the kick off in the first half of the match. Rômulo Machado kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. Bruno Martini made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcelo Dal Bello in the 7th minute of play. Marcelo Dal Bello came free with the goalkeeper in the 8th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Bruno Martini could save by the left post. Manfred Rudqvist lost his temper 15 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 17th minute of the match Guando floripa F.C got a corner. Manchester United FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Rômulo Machado ran over to the corner to take the kick. Rômulo Machado made a great header on Guando floripa F.C's corner, it was just that Manchester United FC's Bruno Martini managed to reach the ball for a save. Alessandro Nesta struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Lorenzo Rodrigues didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Manchester United FC. Paulo José das Neves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bruno Martini came out of the goal in the 24th minute to try and stop a shot by Guando floripa F.C's Marcelo Dal Bello. But to his dismay, Marcelo Dal Bello quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. In the 26th minute Luiz Fabiano de Carvalho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lorenzo Rodrigues saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 29 minutes, Sid Todd mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Manchester United FC and the Guando floripa F.C players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 28 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Manchester United FC! In the 35th minute Luiz Fabiano de Carvalho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lorenzo Rodrigues saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Rômulo Machado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Luiz Fabiano de Carvalho stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Manchester United FC were awarded a corner in the 53th minute after Guando floripa F.C's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Simão de Toledo took the corner. The corner ended in Simão de Toledo almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Guando floripa F.C's Lorenzo Rodrigues did a great save. Luiz Fabiano de Carvalho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Guando floripa F.C booed when Manchester United FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joachim De Jonghe didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bruno Martini showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Thiago Luz, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felipe Mesquita in the 62nd minute of play forced Manchester United FC's goalkeeper Bruno Martini to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luiz Fabiano de Carvalho in the 69th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lorenzo Rodrigues prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marcelo Dal Bello in the 73rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bruno Martini saved Manchester United FC from getting behind. Lorenzo Rodrigues came out of the goal in the 78th minute to try and stop a shot by Manchester United FC's Luiz Fabiano de Carvalho. But to his dismay, Luiz Fabiano de Carvalho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luiz Fabiano de Carvalho in the 81st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lorenzo Rodrigues saved Guando floripa F.C from getting behind. Luiz Fabiano de Carvalho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Lorenzo Rodrigues tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 93rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Guando floripa F.C's goalkeeper Lorenzo Rodrigues, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Lorenzo Rodrigues took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luiz Fabiano de Carvalho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
