Joel Vianna blasted a shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Edgard de Almeida having to make a save. Edgard de Almeida made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hacı Demirdelen in the 26th minute of play. In the 26th minute the ball was on its way in behind Montesclarense E.C.'s goalkeeper Edgard de Almeida, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 27 minutes into the game, Dante Pero cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Edgard de Almeida was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Wally Lawson struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Washington de Lara didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Montesclarense E.C.. Montesclarense E.C.'s Jorge Sá managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Vito Tasso in the 68 minute of the game. Edgard de Almeida was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Hacı Demirdelen showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-6 in the 74 minute of play. 78 minutes had been played when some careless play by Montesclarense E.C.'s defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner.
