The referee gave Atlético São Sebastião a penalty, 48 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Godofredo Cebo, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Apinage SC's Álvaro do Valle. 0-8. The Apinage SC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Atlético São Sebastião were winning 0-8.

The wind increased when Luizinho de Alcântara made the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Godofredo Cebo in the 53rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Álvaro do Valle prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Apinage SC's Álvaro do Valle played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sérgio Goiano in the 55th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Godofredo Cebo kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Álvaro do Valle. That made the score 0-9 in the 57 minute of play. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 94 minutes into the match, Roberto Simões had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Álvaro do Valle. Apinage SC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Roberto Simões was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-14. William Santana might have been able to make a better finish in the 97th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Álvaro do Valle. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. William Santana ran back to his position shaking his head. When the match was over Atlético São Sebastião could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Apinage SC throughout the match.
