Jardel Queiroz yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. After a rather tough play, AE Uruguaianense's Carlos Eduardo Lopez got a free kick in the 18th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Antônio Carlos Arantes in the 26th minute of play forced Atlético Capixaba's goalkeeper Jean Schmidt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
