Christiano Guimarães didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Osvaldo da Mata went, in the 14th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. In the 20th match minute, Flalemanha was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ronaldo França to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Carlinhos Vidal managed to get in a good position for a shot. Motta Futebol Clube's supporters rose to their feet, but Carlinhos Vidal was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Stanislas Le Duigou breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Stanislas Le Duigou took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carlinhos Vidal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Leon Messi in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Christiano Guimarães prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Christiano Guimarães made a fantastic save in the 30th minute, when Leon Messi sent off a good shot on target. 38 minutes into the match, Motta Futebol Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Leon Messi came free, but Christiano Guimarães reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 39th minute, Flalemanha's Osvaldo da Mata ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Christiano Guimarães. Christiano Guimarães yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-1. 45 minutes into the game, Leon Messi recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Christiano Guimarães. Leon Messi showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 4-1. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Osvaldo da Mata was the one to do the kick off. Cássio Bueno might have been able to make a better finish in the 52nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Stanislas Le Duigou. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cássio Bueno ran back to his position shaking his head. Motta Futebol Clube's Joélson Nogueira managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Leandro Brito in the 54 minute of the game. 55 minutes into the match, Osvaldo da Mata notched a goal, 5-1, to the right of Motta Futebol Clube's Christiano Guimarães. Christiano Guimarães was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Christiano Guimarães made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Osvaldo da Mata in the 60th minute of play. The tension between the Flalemanha and the Motta Futebol Clube players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 69th minute, Leon Messi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Osvaldo da Mata in the 73rd minute of play forced Motta Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Christiano Guimarães to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Christiano Guimarães showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Célio Nunes, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. Motta Futebol Clube's Paulo Renato Motta quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Luís Fernando Arantes, made in the 77th minute of the game. In the 79th minute, Flavinho Mello hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Leon Messi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Christiano Guimarães was relentless in the 81st minute of the game. The referee felt a red card was in order, 83 minutes into the game, when Paulo Renato Motta put in a rough tackle. Stanislas Le Duigou came out of the goal and Joélson Nogueira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Flalemanha's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
