Arnaldo Ortega who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 20thth minute tested the skills of Tarcisio Mattos when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Tarcisio Mattos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from David Costa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 22 minutes, Arnaldo Ortega managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Militros F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Arnaldo Ortega was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Arnaldo Ortega's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tarcisio Mattos read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 30th minute of play. 33 minutes into the game, Arnaldo Ortega lined in a short shot 4-0 behind a frustrated Tarcisio Mattos. Militros F.C.'s Arnaldo Ortega suffered a concussion after 36 minutes and had to leave the field. When Olívio Meireles fell near the penalty area in the 36th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pato City's protests and gave Olívio Meireles a yellow card for diving instead. In the 38th minute of the match, Wanderson Valencia got a very nice opportunity to score, but Tarcisio Mattos was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Pato City's defense didn't have a chance, in the 46th minute, when Wanderson Valencia scored to the left of an out of position Tarcisio Mattos, making the score, 5-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 5-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Kléberson Cardoso stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Wanderson Valencia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tarcisio Mattos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Pato City's zone, David Costa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tarcisio Mattos came out of the goal and David Costa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 55 minutes, David Costa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Militros F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but David Costa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Francisco Regis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tarcisio Mattos having to interfere. Ismael Aparecido's late challenge caught a Militros F.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ismael Aparecido helped the player get up and apologised. In the 59th minute, Ismael Aparecido hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 60th minute, Wanderson Valencia got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Francisco Regis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Breno Lopez charged in rather forcefully in the 64th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Breno Lopez the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Pato City getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Breno Lopez hit a great ball. Militros F.C. made a substitution. Ronaldão Silva replaced Renatinho Lago. In the 72ndth minute of the game Wanderson Valencia who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Pato City's Tarcisio Mattos was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Washington Peixoto came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Militros F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Washington Peixoto couldn't finish the play. Militros F.C. walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
