Hector Crescencio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Baldomero Jurdan in the 22nd minute of the match. The throw-in from Jaime Mon in the 24th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by AGE Guarany's Dráusio Goiano. 29 minutes into the game, Magno Faria recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Hortêncio Costa. Magno Faria showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. With a little luck, AGE Guarany's Hortêncio Costa got control of the ball when Raymond Naets tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to AGE Guarany getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Beto de Lara hit a great ball. If Saturnino Osoro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. AGE Guarany's Hortêncio Costa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 42nd minute of the match, managed to save AGE Guarany from getting a goal against them. Magno Faria could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 43rd minute of the match, but Hortêncio Costa made a huge save. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The AGE Guarany fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hortêncio Costa should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, Contos Gauchescos's Claudinei Paes got a free kick in the 70th minute. Dráusio Goiano hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. Giuseppe Gerber recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience was convinced that Magno Faria's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hortêncio Costa was relentless in the 91st minute of the game.
