The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With a little luck, Sagatyba Esporte Clube's Luizão Rezende got control of the ball when Elpidio Espiridion tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the match clock showed 4 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Elpidio Espiridion sped through Sagatyba Esporte Clube's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Luizão Rezende. An unexpectedly hard shot by Natã Pirani in the 7th minute of play forced Sagatyba Esporte Clube's goalkeeper Luizão Rezende to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The corner ended in Rudolf Speed almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Sagatyba Esporte Clube's Luizão Rezende did a great save. David Ramalho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Elpidio Espiridion did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-0 to the left of a surprised Luizão Rezende 13 minutes into the match. Luizão Rezende made an important save on a dangerous shot by Elpidio Espiridion in the 16th minute. When Elpidio Espiridion, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 18 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Luizão Rezende was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Elpidio Espiridion could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Luizão Rezende made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Elpidio Espiridion got free with Luizão Rezende in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Luizão Rezende came out of the goal in the 34th minute to try and stop a shot by Corinthians's Elpidio Espiridion. But to his dismay, Elpidio Espiridion quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-0. With his leg Luizão Rezende managed to avoid a goal in the 39thth minute, when Corinthians's Elpidio Espiridion fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Elpidio Espiridion received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Luizão Rezende came out and tried to block the shot, but Elpidio Espiridion slotted it home off the left post making it 6-0 in the 41st minute. Jaime Almeida showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Yeferson Soteldo, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 6-0 at half-time.

When Camilo Torrealba fell near the penalty area in the 50th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sagatyba Esporte Clube's protests and gave Camilo Torrealba a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Sagatyba Esporte Clube's Camilo Torrealba got a free kick in the 50th minute. Luizão Rezende took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Elpidio Espiridion, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 54th minute, Dedê Alvarenga got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some careless play in the Sagatyba Esporte Clube defense, Elpidio Espiridion kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Luizão Rezende. The Sagatyba Esporte Clube fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Luizão Rezende should have stopped the shot. Elpidio Espiridion took the ball and in the 67 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Luizão Rezende. Luizão Rezende dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 10-0. 70 minutes into the match, Sagatyba Esporte Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Elpidio Espiridion came free, but Luizão Rezende reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Elpidio Espiridion in the 72nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Luizão Rezende saved Sagatyba Esporte Clube from getting behind. 73 minutes into the game, Wambasther Cavani threw the ball into play from the sideline. Corinthians's Leopoldo Palmeira quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. In the 74th minute of the game, Leopoldo Palmeira landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. During the 74th minute of the match Camilo Torrealba completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Camilo Torrealba a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After a rather tough play, Sagatyba Esporte Clube's Camilo Torrealba got a free kick in the 76th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Sagatyba Esporte Clube's zone, Elpidio Espiridion stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luizão Rezende came out of the goal and Elpidio Espiridion tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Yeferson Soteldo got free with Jaime Almeida in the 79th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 81st minute of the match, Yeferson Soteldo got a very nice opportunity to score, but Jaime Almeida was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Luizão Rezende stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Elpidio Espiridion's shot from short distance in the 82nd minute. Yeferson Soteldo hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. After having played for 87 minutes, Elpidio Espiridion managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Corinthians's supporters crossed their fingers, but Elpidio Espiridion was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 91st minute, Elpidio Espiridion made a precise shot to the right of Luizão Rezende. Sagatyba Esporte Clube's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 12-0. Luizão Rezende stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Elpidio Espiridion's shot from short distance in the 95th minute. In the 96thth minute of the game Elpidio Espiridion who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sagatyba Esporte Clube's Luizão Rezende was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Corinthians had played much better football throughout.
