In the 5th minute Severino Salgado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lauro da Silveira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Carlos Alberto Machado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jacaresinho V.T.'s Julian Bejrut played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adrianinho Leite in the 12th minute of play. Duda Varela was extremely unlucky when he, in the 14th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Carlos Alberto Machado struck a weak shot in the 16th minute. Julian Bejrut didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for União São José FC. 20 minutes into the match, União São José FC's goal looked a bit too open when Severino Salgado came free, but Lauro da Silveira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jacaresinho V.T.'s Julian Bejrut played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Alberto Machado in the 24th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Jacaresinho V.T.'s Carlos Alberto Neiva got a free kick in the 29th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Severino Salgado in the 48th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lauro da Silveira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Adrianinho Leite was the one to do the kick off. Giuseppe Baiano charged in rather forcefully in the 51st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Giuseppe Baiano the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a defensive mix-up in Jacaresinho V.T.'s zone, Carlos Alberto Machado stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julian Bejrut came out of the goal and Carlos Alberto Machado tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Julian Bejrut was out of position in the 69 minute of play, and Gil Meirelles capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Gil Meirelles really showed his touch with that goal: 0-1. In the 72nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Jacaresinho V.T.'s goalkeeper Julian Bejrut, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Mathias Domingues kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Adrianinho Leite got free with Julian Bejrut in the 77th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Mário Paulista lost his temper 80 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After a rather tough play, União São José FC's Mário Paulista got a free kick in the 81st minute. Lauro da Silveira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Josué Viana in the 82nd minute of play. Lauro da Silveira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Severino Salgado, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Léo Bittencourt in the 93rd minute of play forced União São José FC's goalkeeper Lauro da Silveira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Jacaresinho V.T. supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching União São José FC's performance. The match ended with a win for União São José FC.
