The corner led Muqui FC's Luiz Fernando de Azevedo to fire away a dangerous shot which Válter Peixoto despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Eliodor Vasiloiu during the 29th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Muqui FC's Gabi Orange got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Narciso Faria struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Válter Peixoto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Muqui FC. With his leg Válter Peixoto managed to avoid a goal in the 37thth minute, when Muqui FC's Narciso Faria fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The supporters of Muqui FC booed when Sport Guild Atlantis was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tadeu Abraão didn't get a good kick on the ball. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gabi Orange to make the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Muqui FC's goalkeeper Best Taffarel had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by João Carlos Novaes. But to his dismay, Murilo Eger quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Gabi Orange recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Henrique de Senna charged in rather forcefully in the 69th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Henrique de Senna the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Sport Guild Atlantis's Henrique de Senna got a free kick in the 69th minute. 70 minutes into the match, Sport Guild Atlantis's goal looked a bit too open when Gabi Orange came free, but Válter Peixoto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Narciso Faria charged in rather forcefully in the 74th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Narciso Faria the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Válter Peixoto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Narciso Faria, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. Válter Peixoto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Narciso Faria, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
