The supporters of Paraná Clube booed when Nova Era was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Artur Tande didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 21 minutes of play, Nova Era's Lucas Beltrán made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. When the match clock showed 31 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Sebastien De Hont sped through Nova Era's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Chico Pinho. 36 minutes into the game, Lucas Beltrán cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Fabio Fillol was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Lucas Beltrán's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fabio Fillol read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 39th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Paraná Clube's Arlindo Xavier got a free kick in the 41st minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Lucas Beltrán made a kick off. Lucas Beltrán took the ball and in the 53 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fabio Fillol. Fabio Fillol dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. The audience was convinced that Lucas Beltrán's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fabio Fillol was relentless in the 59th minute of the game. Paraná Clube's Sebastien De Hont got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Elder Ortiz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vladimir Leal's late challenge caught a Nova Era's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vladimir Leal helped the player get up and apologised. In the 64th match minute, Paraná Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vladimir Leal to maneuver through the defense. Chico Pinho made an important save on a dangerous shot by Elder Ortiz in the 67th minute. Paraná Clube's Vladimir de Souza was substituted for Arlindo Xavier. Nova Era were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest.
