The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Gerardo Arce recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 3rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Macario booed when Reko-Recko 03™ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rui Dionísio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Reko-Recko 03™'s Cipriano de Toledo got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Rui Dionísio might have been able to make a better finish in the 13th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over José Vítor Arce. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rui Dionísio ran back to his position shaking his head. José Vítor Arce showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Svali Bollason in the 15th minute of the match. José Vítor Arce showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Svali Bollason, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. In the 16th minute, Svali Bollason made a precise shot to the right of José Vítor Arce. Macario's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. In the 19th match minute, Reko-Recko 03™ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlos Augusto Sá to maneuver through the defense. Reko-Recko 03™'s Angelino Nueva played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Basílio do Nascimento in the 36th minute of play. Délio Amaral made in the 41st minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Reko-Recko 03™'s Dedé Gaspar. If Svali Bollason had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.

The wind increased when Basílio do Nascimento made the kick off in the second half. Délio Amaral made in the 56th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Fabinho Messias immediately put the ball in play. In the 59th minute the ball was on its way in behind Macario's goalkeeper José Vítor Arce, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 66 played minutes Macario got a freekick which was hit by Aleks Krieser. José Vítor Arce showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Svali Bollason in the 67th minute of the match. Aleks Krieser kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. 0-5 became the score in the 76th minute when Rui Dionísio elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Svali Bollason blasted a shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without José Vítor Arce having to make a save. Svali Bollason's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but José Vítor Arce read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 83rd minute of play. A collision led to Macario getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Aleks Krieser hit a great ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Svali Bollason kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving José Vítor Arce. That made the score 0-6 in the 87 minute of play. After 92 minutes, Délio Amaral mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Macario and the Reko-Recko 03™ players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 93 played minutes Macario got a freekick which was hit by Délio Amaral. After a rather tough play, Macario's Enéas Souto got a free kick in the 94th minute. When Gerardo Arce came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Reko-Recko 03™ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gerardo Arce couldn't finish the play. When the match was over Reko-Recko 03™ could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Macario throughout the match.
