The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Emílio Netto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rubinho de Amaral having to interfere. Anderson do Nascimento came out of the goal in the 11th minute to try and stop a shot by Real Cruzeiro FC's Baltazar Zonta. But to his dismay, Baltazar Zonta quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 15th minute Vivaldo Carmona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anderson do Nascimento saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 19 minutes into the game, Josué Paiva cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Anderson do Nascimento was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Anderson do Nascimento took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vivaldo Carmona, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Real Cruzeiro FC booed when Gigabyte Futebol was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gerson Tinoco didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jaime Albuquerque recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 25 minutes into the match, Gigabyte Futebol's goal looked a bit too open when Vivaldo Carmona came free, but Anderson do Nascimento reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 26th minute Baltazar Zonta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anderson do Nascimento saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 39th minute, Baltazar Zonta made a precise shot to the right of Anderson do Nascimento. Gigabyte Futebol's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-4. Gigabyte Futebol's Anderson do Nascimento played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Baltazar Zonta in the 44th minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-5 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Luís Fábio de Souza to strike the kick off in the second half. Anderson do Nascimento showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vivaldo Carmona in the 55th minute of the match. Baltazar Zonta took the ball and in the 57 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Anderson do Nascimento. Anderson do Nascimento dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-6. 60 minutes into the match, Real Cruzeiro FC's Josué Paiva sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Anderson do Nascimento narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 62nd minute, Vivaldo Carmona left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Real Cruzeiro FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-7. Anderson do Nascimento showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vivaldo Carmona, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. 72 minutes into the match, Vivaldo Carmona notched a goal, 0-8, to the right of Gigabyte Futebol's Anderson do Nascimento. Anderson do Nascimento was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Anderson do Nascimento made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vivaldo Carmona in the 82nd minute of play. Anderson do Nascimento was out of position in the 84 minute of play, and Baltazar Zonta capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Baltazar Zonta really showed his touch with that goal: 0-9. Gigabyte Futebol's Anderson do Nascimento played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vivaldo Carmona in the 87th minute of play. In the 91st minute, Jaime Albuquerque got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Vivaldo Carmona received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Anderson do Nascimento tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Real Cruzeiro FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
