Josué Gonçalves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hugo Quin in the 9th minute of the match. After 11 played minutes Akashicos got a freekick which was hit by Arnaldo Cunha. Josué Gonçalves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Narciso Vale, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Hugo Quin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 20thth minute of the game Hugo Quin who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Akashicos's Josué Gonçalves was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 31 minutes into the match, Akashicos's goal looked a bit too open when Hugo Quin came free, but Josué Gonçalves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 33 minutes into the game, Hugo Quin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Freire88's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Akashicos the free kick. A collision led to Freire88 getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Hugo Quin hit a great ball. In the 45th minute, Akashicos's Mário Chaves seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Mário Chaves the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Akashicos protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Mário Chaves had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In a very dangerous position, a player in Akashicos fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 45th minute. Penalty! The referee gave Freire88 a penalty, 47 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Johannes Morland, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Akashicos's Josué Gonçalves. 0-1. After the first half Freire88 were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hugo Quin to make the kick off. A collision led to Freire88 getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Marquinhos Chaves hit a great ball. The supporters of Akashicos booed when Freire88 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marquinhos Chaves didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Freire88's Orvar Nykvist got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Josué Gonçalves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hugo Quin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marquinhos Chaves could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 77th minute of the match, but Josué Gonçalves made a huge save. In the 79th minute Freire88 were awarded a corner. Johannes Morland went to the cornerflag to take it. Clemente Azevedo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 85th minute Hugo Quin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Josué Gonçalves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Josué Gonçalves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hugo Quin in the 85th minute of play. If Hugo Quin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Clemente Azevedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hugo Quin hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Akashicos's zone, Hugo Quin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Josué Gonçalves came out of the goal and Hugo Quin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Akashicos's Josué Gonçalves proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 96th minute of the match, managed to save Akashicos from getting a goal against them. The Freire88 supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Freire88 would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
