Helge Almkvist could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 13th minute of the match, but Luisinho Lima made a huge save. A collision led to Ferroviaria de Araraquara getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Moisés Sousa hit a great ball. In the 14th minute, Helge Almkvist left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Palmeiras de Plantão fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edson Mendes got free with Luisinho Lima in the 17th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 25 minutes of play, Ferroviaria de Araraquara's Severino Oliveira made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cido Meireles was left in no man's land by his defense there! Luisinho Lima showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zézinho Paraíba in the 35th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Edson Mendes in the 37th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Luisinho Lima prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ferroviaria de Araraquara's Luisinho Lima played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zézinho Paraíba in the 39th minute of play. If Vladimir do Valle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Palmeiras de Plantão's Pedro Pinho got a free kick in the 42nd minute. The supporters of Palmeiras de Plantão booed when Ferroviaria de Araraquara was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Oséas Teles didn't get a good kick on the ball. Palmeiras de Plantão's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
