When the match clock showed 5 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Nontas Boulas sped through E. C. Uruguaiana's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Fausto Mattos. Fausto Mattos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nontas Boulas, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. In the 17th match minute, Arius Fou was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Laerte Messias to maneuver through the defense. After 19 minutes of play, Arius Fou's Nontas Boulas made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Fausto Mattos was left in no man's land by his defense there! A collision led to E. C. Uruguaiana getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Sandrinho Catarinense hit a great ball. E. C. Uruguaiana's Fausto Mattos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nontas Boulas in the 25th minute of play. Gilmar de Godoi made in the 26th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Arius Fou's Laerte Messias. After 27 minutes of play, Arius Fou's Nontas Boulas made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Fausto Mattos was left in no man's land by his defense there! Gilmar de Godoi made in the 31st minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Diego Almeida. Milton Kikuchi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gilmar de Godoi in the 47th minute of the match. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Arius Fou made a substitution. Júlio Lucas replaced Adelino Bertassi. Anísio Nóbrega hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. Arius Fou's Thanasis Mavros got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Nontas Boulas came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the Arius Fou fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nontas Boulas couldn't finish the play. When E. C. Uruguaiana's Sandrinho Catarinense in the 69th minute got a chance for a shot 69th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Arius Fou's goalie prevented a goal. Fausto Mattos came out of the goal in the 71st minute to try and stop a shot by Arius Fou's Fernandinho Moraes. But to his dismay, Fernandinho Moraes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. 76 minutes into the match, E. C. Uruguaiana's goal looked a bit too open when Fernandinho Moraes came free, but Fausto Mattos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 77th match minute, Arius Fou was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Laerte Messias to maneuver through the defense. If Fernandinho Moraes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Fernandinho Moraes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Arius Fou's supporters rose to their feet, but Fernandinho Moraes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fausto Mattos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 86 minutes into the match, E. C. Uruguaiana's goalkeeper Fausto Mattos had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fernandinho Moraes. In the 87th minute, E. C. Uruguaiana's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Fernandinho Moraes fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Fernandinho Moraes was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 95th minute. Arius Fou's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. In the 96th match minute, E. C. Uruguaiana was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anísio Nóbrega to maneuver through the defense. After 97 played minutes, Arius Fou's Thanasis Mavros shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Fausto Mattos came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Arius Fou reached it. The E. C. Uruguaiana fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Arius Fou were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
