Slavo FC's Edu Queiroz suffered a torn muscle in his foot after 5 minutes and couldn't finish the game. When Maurinho Maranhense fell near the penalty area in the 5th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored E. C. Uruguaiana's protests and gave Maurinho Maranhense a yellow card for diving instead. In the 7th match minute, E. C. Uruguaiana was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Maurinho Maranhense to maneuver through the defense. Maurinho Maranhense sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Maurinho Maranhense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. If Maurinho Maranhense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 24th minute Diguinho Chaves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rogério Mitovski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Maurinho Maranhense might have been able to make a better finish in the 26th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Otávio Sanches. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Maurinho Maranhense ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 26th minute Maurinho Maranhense shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Otávio Sanches saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jardel Ribeiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Maurinho Maranhense blasted a shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Otávio Sanches having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maurinho Maranhense in the 39th minute of play forced Slavo FC's goalkeeper Otávio Sanches to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Otávio Sanches took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Maurinho Maranhense, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 39th minute, Maurinho Maranhense fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Maurinho Maranhense blasted a shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Otávio Sanches having to make a save. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Edmundo Basso made the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Maurinho Maranhense in the 53rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Otávio Sanches saved Slavo FC from getting behind. E. C. Uruguaiana's Rogério Mitovski proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 57th minute of the match, managed to save E. C. Uruguaiana from getting a goal against them. Slavo FC's Otávio Sanches played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maurinho Maranhense in the 58th minute of play. Otávio Sanches showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maurinho Maranhense in the 64th minute of the match. With a little luck, E. C. Uruguaiana's Rogério Mitovski got control of the ball when Jardel Ribeiro tried to sneak it across the goal line. 69 minutes into the match, Maurinho Maranhense had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Otávio Sanches. Slavo FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Maurinho Maranhense was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Maurinho Maranhense might have been able to make a better finish in the 72nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Otávio Sanches. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Maurinho Maranhense ran back to his position shaking his head. Slavo FC's Otávio Sanches played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maurinho Maranhense in the 72nd minute of play. Maurinho Maranhense's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Otávio Sanches read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 74th minute of play. Otávio Sanches came out of the goal in the 76th minute to try and stop a shot by E. C. Uruguaiana's Maurinho Maranhense. But to his dismay, Maurinho Maranhense quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. After 81st play minutes Maurinho Maranhense shot 4-0, a short shot which went by Otávio Sanches and just under the crossbar into goal. After some careless play in the Slavo FC defense, Maurinho Maranhense kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Otávio Sanches. The Slavo FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Otávio Sanches should have stopped the shot. When Fred Monteiro came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the E. C. Uruguaiana fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fred Monteiro couldn't finish the play. If Maurinho Maranhense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 89 minutes into the match, Slavo FC's goal looked a bit too open when Maurinho Maranhense came free, but Otávio Sanches reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When E. C. Uruguaiana's Maurinho Maranhense in the 93rd minute got a chance for a shot 93rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Slavo FC's goalie prevented a goal. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. E. C. Uruguaiana had won after a very even match.
