The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, SeleSantos FC's Nildo do Valle got a free kick in the 2nd minute. 7 minutes into the match, Canarinho Atordoado's goal looked a bit too open when Jesper Åberg came free, but Dé Mello reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Canarinho Atordoado were awarded a corner in the 13th minute after SeleSantos FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Pontus Ligers took the corner. In the 15th match minute, SeleSantos FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Frederico de Moraes to maneuver through the defense. SeleSantos FC's Dinei Pinheiro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save SeleSantos FC from getting a goal against them. Canarinho Atordoado's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Pontus Ligers in the 16th minute. The corner led Canarinho Atordoado's Anko Krústinov to fire away a dangerous shot which Dinei Pinheiro despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. With an all-out effort, Canarinho Atordoado's Dinei Pinheiro threw himself towards the right post 18 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Márcio Seabra, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The supporters of SeleSantos FC booed when Canarinho Atordoado was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Teodoro Jacinto didn't get a good kick on the ball. SeleSantos FC's Dinei Pinheiro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save SeleSantos FC from getting a goal against them. If Pontus Ligers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When the match had gone on for 28 minutes, Teodoro Jacinto took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Dinei Pinheiro to make any attempt to save it. A collision led to Canarinho Atordoado getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Anko Krústinov hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jesper Åberg in the 33rd minute of play forced Canarinho Atordoado's goalkeeper Dé Mello to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 35 minutes into the match, SeleSantos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Márcio Seabra came free, but Dinei Pinheiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wilson Ramalho charged in rather forcefully in the 38th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Wilson Ramalho the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Canarinho Atordoado booed when SeleSantos FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wilson Ramalho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dinei Pinheiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pontus Ligers, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 40 minutes, Pontus Ligers managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Canarinho Atordoado's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pontus Ligers was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Teodoro Jacinto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. SeleSantos FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 43rd minute, when Márcio Seabra scored to the left of an out of position Dinei Pinheiro, making the score, 2-0. 3-0 became the score in the 47th minute when Márcio Seabra elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Márcio Seabra made the kick off in the second half. The Canarinho Atordoado fans' excitement grew in the 54th match minute when Canarinho Atordoado's Pontus Ligers looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 58th match minute, SeleSantos FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Frederico de Moraes to maneuver through the defense. Dinei Pinheiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pontus Ligers, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Márcio Seabra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Dinei Pinheiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 65 minutes into the game, Canarinho Atordoado's Anísio Queirós nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dinei Pinheiro made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-0. Pontus Ligers fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dinei Pinheiro having to interfere. Pontus Ligers hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. In the 74th minute, SeleSantos FC's Niilo Mikkola ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Dé Mello. Dé Mello yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 5-1. When Teodoro Jacinto fell near the penalty area in the 78th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Canarinho Atordoado's protests and gave Teodoro Jacinto a yellow card for diving instead. If John-Paul Pras had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 84 minutes, John-Paul Pras put it in 6-1 from a short distance just to the right of Dinei Pinheiro. Fabián Nesta hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. In the 95th minute, John-Paul Pras made a precise shot to the right of Dinei Pinheiro. SeleSantos FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 7-1. There was no doubt that Canarinho Atordoado were the better team. Canarinho Atordoado's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
