Colognese FC's Rurik Öhlmann was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Sergio Goicoechea in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 6 minutes into the game, Juninho Santos cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Sergio Goicoechea was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Juninho Santos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 12th minute, Juninho Santos left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Colognese FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Juninho Santos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sergio Goicoechea having to interfere. 17 minutes into the match, Juninho Santos had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sergio Goicoechea. GRÊMIO's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Juninho Santos was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. Geovanni Leme received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Sergio Goicoechea tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sergio Goicoechea showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Juninho Santos in the 27th minute of the match. Juninho Santos blasted a shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sergio Goicoechea having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Juninho Santos in the 33rd minute of play forced GRÊMIO's goalkeeper Sergio Goicoechea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luís Paulo Siqueira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfredinho Carneiro having to interfere. GRÊMIO's Sergio Goicoechea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Geovanni Leme in the 38th minute of play. With a little luck, Colognese FC's Alfredinho Carneiro got control of the ball when Luan Valle tried to sneak it across the goal line. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Edgard Batista was the one to do the kick off. After a rather tough play, GRÊMIO's Luís Paulo Siqueira got a free kick in the 57th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Edgard Batista in the 61st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sergio Goicoechea prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Edgard Batista blasted a shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sergio Goicoechea having to make a save. Edgard Batista sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. GRÊMIO's Luiz Gustavo Mazza was substituted for Luís Paulo Siqueira. If Edgard Batista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. In the 75th minute the ball was on its way in behind GRÊMIO's goalkeeper Sergio Goicoechea, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.
