After 3 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Football Verde-Amarelo! In the 5th minute there was a penalty for S S Palestra Italia. Inácio Figueiredo stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Santo Marcos. 1-0. Wágner Prado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Santo Marcos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jarbas Guedes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vito Batista in the 15th minute of play. Jarbas Guedes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vito Batista, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. S S Palestra Italia's Jarbas Guedes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rodrigo Batista in the 16th minute of play. Bo Ros's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jarbas Guedes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 27th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bo Ros in the 28th minute of play forced S S Palestra Italia's goalkeeper Jarbas Guedes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Wágner Prado to make the kick off. Football Verde-Amarelo's Amadeu Vergílio was substituted for Bo Ros. Football Verde-Amarelo's Reinaldo Custódio quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Serafim Hermes, made in the 57th minute of the game. The audience was convinced that Amadeu Vergílio's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jarbas Guedes was relentless in the 68th minute of the game. Chico Secco could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 70th minute of the match, but Jarbas Guedes made a huge save. Alfredão Monteiro hit a great ball. 89 minutes into the match, S S Palestra Italia's Rony Tasso sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Santo Marcos narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Football Verde-Amarelo's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
