The audience thought a goal was coming when Elivélton Ferraz got free with Ronaldo Medeiros in the 8th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 8th minute, Wanderson Trevisan reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Ronaldo Medeiros. The goal made the score 1-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Laerte Lucas in the 11th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ander Bye saved Anderbye FC from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Anderbye FC's zone, Christian Passos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ander Bye came out of the goal and Christian Passos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Leandro Passos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Ronaldo Medeiros made a huge save. In the 28th minute of the match Montevideo got a corner. Anderbye FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Valério Amorim ran over to the corner to take the kick. Laerte Lucas might have been able to make a better finish in the 33rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ander Bye. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Laerte Lucas ran back to his position shaking his head. Bray McJon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Ander Bye tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 42nd minute Olavo Matorin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ander Bye saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Anderbye FC getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Luís Fernando Vianna hit a great ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Laerte Lucas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ander Bye having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 54 minutes, Olavo Matorin took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Ander Bye to make any attempt to save it. Afonso Alves was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 57 minutes into the match. In the 57th minute, one of Anderbye FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Anderbye FC. Laerte Lucas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 67th minute of the match, but Ander Bye made a huge save. In the 68th minute, Elivélton Ferraz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ander Bye made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bray McJon in the 84th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Laerte Lucas got free with Ander Bye in the 89th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 94th minute Bray McJon suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. 94 minutes into the game, Jairo Mello was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Anderbye FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Montevideo the free kick. Montevideo's Natanael de Godoi was substituted for Bray McJon. After 95 played minutes Anderbye FC got a freekick which was hit by Jairo Mello. In the 96th minute, Montevideo's Laerte Lucas dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-5. The Montevideo players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
