Damian Mouricio made a fantastic save in the 6th minute, when Ladislao Gerazan sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Saul Goodman in the 14th minute of play forced Nova Iguaçu MZFC's goalkeeper Mickaël Maris to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Damian Mouricio was a little too slow when Ladislao Gerazan got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 18th minute. The score was now 1-0. Mickaël Maris took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Saul Goodman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Villa Verde FC's Damian Mouricio got control of the ball when Ladislao Gerazan tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Horaţiu Măcrinici in the 28th minute of play forced Villa Verde FC's goalkeeper Damian Mouricio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Damian Mouricio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Horaţiu Măcrinici in the 29th minute of the match. After 40 minutes of play, Villa Verde FC's Saul Goodman made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mickaël Maris was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 44th match minute, Nova Iguaçu MZFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edu Vaz to maneuver through the defense. Ovidio Marko's late challenge caught a Villa Verde FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ovidio Marko helped the player get up and apologised. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Horaţiu Măcrinici stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Damian Mouricio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edu Vaz in the 54th minute of play. In the 80th minute Villa Verde FC were awarded a corner. Durval Leão went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Durval Leão got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Mickaël Maris quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Horaţiu Măcrinici in the 91st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Damian Mouricio saved Villa Verde FC from getting behind. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Luís Guilherme Cearense managed to get in a good position for a shot. Villa Verde FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Luís Guilherme Cearense was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mickaël Maris breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
