Walmyr Queirós made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roy Makaay in the 4th minute of play. Walmyr Queirós showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Roy Makaay, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Rod Marsland managed to get in a good position for a shot. Aguinhas's supporters rose to their feet, but Rod Marsland was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nenko Reza breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Rod Marsland recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 28 minutes into the game, Rod Marsland cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Nenko Reza was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Rod Marsland might have been able to make a better finish in the 31st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nenko Reza. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rod Marsland ran back to his position shaking his head. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Roy Makaay managed to get in a good position for a shot. Villaverde Celeste Clube's supporters rose to their feet, but Roy Makaay was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Walmyr Queirós breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Nenko Reza stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rod Marsland's shot from short distance in the 36th minute. The audience was convinced that Rod Marsland's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nenko Reza was relentless in the 45th minute of the game. 47 minutes into the match, Roy Makaay had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Walmyr Queirós. Aguinhas's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Roy Makaay was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Roy Makaay to strike the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Roy Makaay managed to get in a good position for a shot. Villaverde Celeste Clube's supporters rose to their feet, but Roy Makaay was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Walmyr Queirós breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Roy Makaay had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 58 minutes into the match, Aguinhas's goal looked a bit too open when Roy Makaay came free, but Walmyr Queirós reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 60thth minute of the game Roy Makaay who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Aguinhas's Walmyr Queirós was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 61st minute Villaverde Celeste Clube were awarded a corner. Guo Ao went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led to Villaverde Celeste Clube's William Lucas getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. In the 71st minute Roy Makaay shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Walmyr Queirós saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roy Makaay in the 76th minute of play forced Aguinhas's goalkeeper Walmyr Queirós to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 77th minute Roy Makaay shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Walmyr Queirós saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rod Marsland sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nenko Reza stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rod Marsland's shot from short distance in the 89th minute. When the match clock showed 89 minutes, the score became 3-2 when Rod Marsland sped through Villaverde Celeste Clube's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Nenko Reza. Matheus Baltazar's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Walmyr Queirós read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 93rd minute of play.
