In the 6th minute Barbaros Seçkin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cássio Dionísio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Válbson Cunha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Silvinho Corrêa in the 14th minute of the match. Artur Senna struck a weak shot in the 16th minute. Cássio Dionísio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SRP-Laguna. Válbson Cunha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Silvinho Corrêa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 28 minutes into the match, SRP-Laguna's goalkeeper Válbson Cunha had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Kamber Aktaş. A collision led to SRP-Laguna getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. José Maria Sanches hit a great ball. In the 40th minute, Rafael Furtado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. SRP-Laguna's Válbson Cunha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Silvinho Corrêa in the 41st minute of play. Rafael Furtado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Cássio Dionísio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cássio Dionísio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Artur Senna, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 47 minutes into the match, SRP-Laguna's goal looked a bit too open when Camillo Sciarretta came free, but Válbson Cunha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Silvinho Corrêa to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd match minute, SRP-Laguna was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roque Junior to maneuver through the defense. Válbson Cunha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Silvinho Corrêa in the 54th minute of play. If Silvinho Corrêa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Válbson Cunha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kamber Aktaş, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Artur Senna came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the SRP-Laguna fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Artur Senna couldn't finish the play. SRP-Laguna's Wiliam Mello was substituted for Rafael Furtado. SRP-Laguna's Xu Le Shu was substituted for Artur Senna. After 91 minutes of play, SRP-Laguna's Xu Le Shu made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cássio Dionísio was left in no man's land by his defense there! 98 minutes into the match, Xu Le Shu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cássio Dionísio. Independente AC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Xu Le Shu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. The SRP-Laguna supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing SRP-Laguna would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
