Garibaldi's Dalmacio Palben proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 13th minute of the match, managed to save Garibaldi from getting a goal against them. 16 minutes into the match, Independiente.fc's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Omero came free, but Basilio Ted reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jorge Urko's late challenge caught a Garibaldi's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jorge Urko helped the player get up and apologised. After 19 played minutes Independiente.fc got a freekick which was hit by Jorge Urko. Generoso Rami in the 24thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Dalmacio Palben, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Arturo Hotz's late challenge caught a Independiente.fc's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Arturo Hotz helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Independiente.fc booed when Garibaldi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arturo Hotz didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 27th minute Julian Omero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Basilio Ted saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dalmacio Palben was a little too slow when Natalio Clementi got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 30th minute. The score was now 1-0. Dalmacio Palben made an important save on a dangerous shot by Generoso Rami in the 36th minute. Generoso Rami fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dalmacio Palben having to interfere. In the 45th match minute, Garibaldi was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jacinto Beturian to maneuver through the defense. 48 minutes had been played when some careless play by Garibaldi's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Jorge Urko was slow to take the kick. During this time Independiente.fc's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Independiente.fc's corner Jorge Urko fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Dalmacio Palben quite easily take care of the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Basilio Ted took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mariano Dalmu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 75 minutes into the match, Natalio Clementi had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dalmacio Palben. Garibaldi's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Natalio Clementi was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. In the 80th minute, Natalio Clementi ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dalmacio Palben was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-1. Generoso Rami sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Generoso Rami fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dalmacio Palben having to interfere. After having played for 90 minutes, Natalio Clementi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Independiente.fc's supporters crossed their fingers, but Natalio Clementi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
