Delmiro Araoz came out of the goal and Paulino Larra tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 38 minutes, Paulino Larra managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. CORDOBA FUTBOL CLUB's supporters crossed their fingers, but Paulino Larra was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 41 played minutes Gimnasia Y Tiro De Salta got a freekick which was hit by Cornelio Beila. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hermengildo Ondino stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Baltasar Lobo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gimnasia Y Tiro De Salta. The CORDOBA FUTBOL CLUB supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing CORDOBA FUTBOL CLUB would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
