The referee ignored Alajuelence AR's protests and gave Eulalio Lopes a yellow card for diving instead. In the 9th match minute, Alajuelence AR was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eulalio Lopes to maneuver through the defense. Omar Perpinya showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nicolas Mikolas in the 14th minute of the match. In the 16th minute, Marcos Salamon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Victor Darien had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 26 minutes into the match, Alajuelence AR's goalkeeper Arnulfo Donostia had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Conrado Cristofor. After a rather tough play, Colonial F.C.'s Esteve Socorro got a free kick in the 27th minute. Eulalio Lopes kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Victor Darien to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Conrado Cristofor in the 54th minute of play forced Alajuelence AR's goalkeeper Arnulfo Donostia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Victor Darien fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arnulfo Donostia having to interfere. Conrado Cristofor scored 2-0 in the 58th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Arnulfo Donostia, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 74th minute, Ismael Sanchez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Victor Darien in the 76th minute of play forced Alajuelence AR's goalkeeper Arnulfo Donostia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Rafael Iyan came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Colonial F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rafael Iyan couldn't finish the play. In the 80th minute, Conrado Cristofor ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Arnulfo Donostia was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. In the 83rd minute Victor Darien shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnulfo Donostia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Victor Darien blasted a shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Arnulfo Donostia having to make a save. After some careless play in the Alajuelence AR defense, Conrado Cristofor kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Arnulfo Donostia. The Alajuelence AR fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Arnulfo Donostia should have stopped the shot. Arnulfo Donostia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Victor Darien in the 95th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Alajuelence AR's Ismael Sanchez got a free kick in the 96th minute. Colonial F.C.'s supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
