Fantoche Villa Urquiza's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alfonso Intxixu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sebastian Osasun received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Eugenio Roano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gerardo Bazil kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. After 11 played minutes Fantoche Villa Urquiza got a freekick which was hit by Samuel Lopez. Celestino Frederik acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 12th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Zeledon Ieltxu. After a defensive mix-up in Durazno's zone, Alfonso Intxixu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eugenio Roano came out of the goal and Alfonso Intxixu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Eugenio Roano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfonso Intxixu in the 20th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Fantoche Villa Urquiza's zone, Guillermo Arce stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Celestino Frederik came out of the goal and Guillermo Arce tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alfonso Intxixu in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Eugenio Roano prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Jorge Opilano came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Fantoche Villa Urquiza fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jorge Opilano couldn't finish the play. Alfonso Intxixu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Eugenio Roano having to make a save. If Alfonso Intxixu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 37th minute, Dionisio Lalla got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ovidio Toro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 40th minute of the match, but Celestino Frederik made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Martin Elixio in the 41st minute of play forced Fantoche Villa Urquiza's goalkeeper Celestino Frederik to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Martin Elixio to make the kick off. After 52 played minutes Fantoche Villa Urquiza got a freekick which was hit by Samuel Lopez. Hugo Porfiro took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 53rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Celestino Frederik. Fantoche Villa Urquiza's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. When Alfonso Intxixu came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Fantoche Villa Urquiza fans jumped to their feet. Alfonso Intxixu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eugenio Roano read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 60th minute of play. Celestino Frederik showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Guillermo Arce, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. Fantoche Villa Urquiza's Celestino Frederik played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Martin Elixio in the 62nd minute of play. 65 minutes into the match, Fantoche Villa Urquiza's goal looked a bit too open when Guillermo Arce came free, but Celestino Frederik reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Jorge Opilano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fantoche Villa Urquiza's supporters rose to their feet, but Jorge Opilano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eugenio Roano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 67th minute, Alfonso Intxixu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 69 played minutes Fantoche Villa Urquiza got a freekick which was hit by Samuel Lopez. Jaime Oier's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eugenio Roano read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 75th minute of play. Alfonso Intxixu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eugenio Roano having to interfere. Celestino Frederik showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Martin Elixio in the 80th minute of the match. Fantoche Villa Urquiza's Alfonso Intxixu got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A hard shot 84 in the game by Alfonso Intxixu from a close distance when the talented Eugenio Roano managed to make a qualified save. Durazno's players were relieved. After 86 minutes, Ovidio Toro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Durazno and the Fantoche Villa Urquiza players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Fantoche Villa Urquiza booed when Durazno was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ovidio Toro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eugenio Roano made a fantastic save in the 95th minute, when Alfonso Intxixu sent off a good shot on target. 95 minutes into the game, Guillermo Arce was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Durazno's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Fantoche Villa Urquiza the free kick. Fantoche Villa Urquiza made a substitution. Honorato Cidro replaced Jorge Opilano. Fantoche Villa Urquiza were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
