Cipriano Valery kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. Augusto Sancho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eustacio Vidal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 15th minute, Eustacio Vidal fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Daniel Tono kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. In the 21st minute, Eustacio Vidal got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 23rd minute, Melquiades Sugoi reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Augusto Sancho. The goal made the score 1-0. After having played for 28 minutes, Zacarias Urtats managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Western Province's supporters crossed their fingers, but Zacarias Urtats was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a little luck, Abel's Augusto Sancho got control of the ball when Melquiades Sugoi tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Western Province booed when Abel was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erasmo Loramendi didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 37th minute, Western Province's Eustacio Vidal dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. Melquiades Sugoi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 43rd minute of the match, but Augusto Sancho made a huge save. In the 44th minute, Melquiades Sugoi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eusebio Iban to make the kick off. After having played for 57 minutes, Eusebio Iban managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Abel's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eusebio Iban was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Abel getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Daniel Tono hit a great ball. Augusto Sancho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Melquiades Sugoi in the 67th minute of play. In the 69th minute, Melquiades Sugoi left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Western Province fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. Teo Pueblo shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. After 82 minutes, Cipriano Valery mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Western Province and the Abel players grew even worse after the yellow card. Melquiades Sugoi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Augusto Sancho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Melquiades Sugoi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Western Province fully deserved thier win.
