After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, Julio Iigo managed to get in a good position for a shot. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tomás Juvenal stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Gaspar Madeo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bernardino Lope's shot from short distance in the 52nd minute. Lars-Erik Pil's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Gaspar Madeo firmly grabbed it by the left post. 56 minutes into the game, Edgardo Baumar was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Deportivo Villa Palermo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Silípica the free kick.
