Bernardo Abreu came out and tried to block the shot, but Prospero Chabier slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 21st minute. Wilfredo Valiente recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Angel Levunliev had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Yacuchirí's Melquiades Vitin quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Jeremias Dalmai, made in the 33rd minute of the game. If Wilfredo Valiente had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A sloppy throw-in by Jeremias Dalmai in the 38th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Yacuchirí's Melquiades Vitin. Robert Kruis hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Prospero Chabier to make the kick off. Wilfredo Valiente really showed his touch with that goal: 2-1. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Yacuchirí had won after a very even match.
