The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 7 minutes into the game, Nirihuao FC's Agustin Fernado nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Fabio Guillerme made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 11th minute, Dionisio Ranolfo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hilario Peli was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 11th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Tadeo Paulin scored 0-2 in the 14th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Fabio Guillerme, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Agustin Fernado struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Fabio Guillerme didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Nirihuao FC. After some careless play in the Cycling Team defense, Jonas Quintyn kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fabio Guillerme. The Cycling Team fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fabio Guillerme should have stopped the shot. 24 minutes into the match, Hilario Peli had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Balin Benet. Nirihuao FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Hilario Peli was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. 28 minutes into the game, Godfredo Herauso was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Nirihuao FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cycling Team the free kick. In the 29th minute, Hilario Peli sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Nirihuao FC's Balin Benet didn't even have to move. Nirihuao FC's Tadeo Paulin got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Fabio Guillerme didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gonzalo Montrelle went, in the 36th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-4 was the resulting score. Fabio Guillerme showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jonas Quintyn in the 40th minute of the match. In the 42nd minute, Agustin Fernado left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Nirihuao FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-5. Fabio Guillerme stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jonas Quintyn's shot from short distance in the 45th minute. 47 minutes into the game, Ruben Quintana was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cycling Team's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Nirihuao FC the free kick. After 47 played minutes Cycling Team got a freekick which was hit by Ruben Quintana. It was beautiful to see Nirihuao FC's Dionisio Ranolfo in action when he in the 48th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-5 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The audience was convinced that Jonas Quintyn's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fabio Guillerme was relentless in the 56th minute of the game. After 58 minutes, Maria Maria mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Nirihuao FC and the Cycling Team players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Nirihuao FC's Maria Maria got a free kick in the 58th minute. In the 60th minute, Maria Maria hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gonzalo Montrelle hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. Tadeo Paulin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 68th minute of the match, but Fabio Guillerme made a huge save. Fabio Guillerme made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gonzalo Montrelle in the 74th minute. Balin Benet showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Delmiro Chus in the 82nd minute of the match. Nirihuao FC's Jonas Quintyn got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jonas Quintyn in the 87th minute of play forced Cycling Team's goalkeeper Fabio Guillerme to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cycling Team's Fabio Guillerme played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gonzalo Montrelle in the 88th minute of play. In the 94th minute Gonzalo Montrelle shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabio Guillerme saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nirihuao FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
