Pico Foot Ball Club's Omar Lawrence played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Patricio Fortun in the 24th minute of play. In the 28th minute, Edgard Mercurio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Omar Lawrence showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Augusto Pero in the 33rd minute of the match. If Edgard Mercurio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Fidel Gutierrez's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eleuterio Oskitz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 51st minute of play. Augusto Pero could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 58th minute of the match, but Omar Lawrence made a huge save. Generoso Gai's late challenge caught a El Famoso River Plate's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Generoso Gai helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Pico Foot Ball Club getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Generoso Gai hit a great ball. 70 minutes into the game, Augusto Pero cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Omar Lawrence was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 73rd match minute, El Famoso River Plate was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fidel Orlo to maneuver through the defense. El Famoso River Plate's Patricio Fortun got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Patricio Fortun sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 86th minute, Pico Foot Ball Club's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Patricio Fortun fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 86th play minute Augusto Pero came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Omar Lawrence. 0-2. In the 96th minute, Augusto Pero hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. El Famoso River Plate walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
